Chapter 3- Technology in the late 1900's

The first telephone was invented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. The telephone was invented as a tool for communication between 2 or more people. Not very long after its invention, telephones used across the world. Telephones were easy access tools used to make long distance conversations with one another. They could be used for small talk, visiting with family, or even strategizing for a war.

Only 3 years later, the light bulb was invented by Thomas Edison. The light bulb was a massive invention, and currently is seen nearly everywhere you go. The invention of the light bulb became very well known, and acted as an inspiration for many other scientists.

In around 1885 to 1886, the first car was invented by Karl Benz. Cars became the most used method of transportation only a few years after its invention. Cars were capable of traveling long distances, and they were much more efficient than walking. Cars are now used to travel almost everywhere from work to Kansas. Cars were so popular that gas stations were made so that cars could get fuel on the go.
